Week 4 Stock Report: McMillan Went Nuclear, Kansas City Found a Cheat Code, and the Eagles Can't Move the Ball

A 14-catch, 192-yard statement in Carolina, a 177-yard stampede in Las Vegas, CeeDee Lamb catching 17 balls in a shootout, and three contenders who left Week 4 with very real questions. Who impressed, who didn't, and which of it is real.

Week 4 Stock Report: McMillan Went Nuclear, Kansas City Found a Cheat Code, and the Eagles Can't Move the Ball - cover artStock Report

Four weeks is when the excuses run out. The schedule has touched enough different opponents that the teams doing the same thing every Sunday are telling you who they are, and the box scores have enough volume behind them to separate roles from flukes. Working from the full box scores and FantasySixPack's Week 4 recap, here is the quarter-season stock report, with a real, spike, or mirage call on each.

Risers

Tetairoa McMillan caught 14 of 16 targets for 192 yards and two touchdowns in Carolina's 32-26 upset of Detroit, and Bryce Young threw for 329 with two scores and no picks doing it. REAL. This is back-to-back monster weeks for the pairing, the target volume is franchise-receiver volume, and the Panthers just beat a team that was laying 3.5 in their building. Chuba Hubbard's 122 yards and two scores made it a whole-offense statement.

Kenneth Walker III ran 22 times for 177 yards and two touchdowns in Kansas City's 30-27 escape in Las Vegas, including a 76-yard breakaway. REAL. The Chiefs are 4-0 and have quietly become a run-first terror, which matters double now that the receiver room is in a hospital gown.

CeeDee Lamb caught 17 passes on 21 targets for 189 yards and a score in Dallas' 34-30 shootout win in Houston. REAL, and then some: Dak Prescott threw for 335, and Javonte Williams punched in three short touchdowns. Seventeen catches is not a game plan, it is a dependency, and dependencies are exactly what you want in fantasy.

Drake Maye walked into Buffalo as a 7-point underdog and left with a 29-26 win, going 22 of 37 for 269 yards and three touchdowns while adding 54 on the ground. REAL. Romeo Doubs caught two of the scores, and New England has now won the kind of road game that rebuilding teams lose.

Kyle Monangai carried 30 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns in Chicago's 23-12 handling of the Jets, taking over the backfield after an early D'Andre Swift fumble, per FantasySixPack. SPIKE until the split settles, but 30 carries is a coach making a statement, and the Bears are 3-1.

Atlanta's ground game turned a 1-3 start into a 45-24 road dismantling of New Orleans: Bijan Robinson went for 145 and two on 19 carries, and Brian Robinson Jr. added three short touchdowns. And T.J. Hockenson saw all 13 of his targets stick, 13 catches for 119 yards, with Justin Jefferson out; Minnesota is 4-0 and has still not played a close-to-full-strength game.

Fallers

Philadelphia's offense has produced 27 points in its last two games. Jalen Hurts threw for 93 yards in Sunday's 24-20 home loss to the Rams, DeVonta Smith's hamstring kept him out, and the backfield lost Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby in the same afternoon. The defense is keeping games close; the offense is 2-2 and trending the wrong way at the worst possible time.

Buffalo laid 7 at home against New England and lost outright. Josh Allen's 253 and a touchdown was fine and nothing more, DJ Moore left with the shoulder again, and a 3-0 start has become a 3-1 record with a home loss to a division rival. Not a crisis, but the first real dent.

Cincinnati got 428 passing yards from Joe Burrow and lost at home to Jacksonville anyway, because it took him 54 attempts to get there and the run game managed 10 yards on Chase Brown's 9 carries. Add the Chase and Higgins injuries and the Bengals are 2-2 with the league's most lopsided offense. The Jaguars, meanwhile, are a quietly tidy 3-1: Trevor Lawrence completed 18 of 23 and the defense has carried road wins in two straight.

Houston is 0-4 and it is officially not the quarterback's fault: C.J. Stroud threw for 347 and two scores with Nico Collins catching 7 for 118 and two touchdowns, and the Texans still lost by 4 at home because the defense let Dallas hang 34. The Chargers are 0-4 after losing 30-23 in Seattle, with Justin Herbert sacked four times and intercepted twice while Ladd McConkey aggravated his foot. And Detroit wasted a 412-yard Jared Goff afternoon by losing outright in Carolina as a 3.5-point favorite, the second time in four weeks the Lions have lost a game they were supposed to control.

The filter before this touches your league pick

Same rule as the last stock report: a team that does the same thing twice is a trend; a player who does it on real volume is a role; everything else is a Tuesday headline. McMillan's targets, Walker's carries, Lamb's 21 looks, and Monangai's 30 totes are roles. One-score escapes and 54-attempt box scores are noise. When your league votes this week, bet the roles, fade the noise, and check the injury column before trusting anyone in green.
